🔴 Start on Pinterest

Log into your Pinterest Business account.
Go to Settings > Claim.
Enter your website URL and click Claim.
Choose your preferred method:

Paste the Meta Tag in Your WordPress Header

There are 3 common ways to do this:

1: Use a WordPress SEO Plugin (like Rank Math or Yoast)

Rank Math

Go to your WordPress dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Webmaster Tools.
Paste the code into the Pinterest Verification Code box (just the content part).
Save changes!

Yoast SEO

WordPress dashboard > SEO > General > Webmaster Tools.
Paste the code into the Pinterest box (again, just the content string).
Save!

2. Use a Header & Footer Plugin

If you’re not using a SEO plugin:

Install the Insert Headers and Footers plugin.
Go to Settings > Insert Headers and Footers.
Paste the full meta tag code into the Header box.
Save your changes.

3: Add Manually to Your Theme (Advanced)

If you’re comfortable editing code:

Go to Appearance > Theme File Editor.
Find the header.php file.
Paste the meta tag just before the </head> tag.
Click Update File.

⚠️ Not recommended unless you know what you’re doing — a small mistake here can break your site.

✅ For Non-WordPress Sites

This will depend on your website platform. Here’s how to do it on the most popular ones:

🔹 Wix

Go to your Wix dashboard > Settings > Custom Code.
Click + Add Custom Code.
Paste the Pinterest HTML tag.
Choose Place Code in HEAD.
Save & publish!

🔹 Squarespace

Go to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection.
In the Header section, paste the Pinterest meta tag.
Save your changes.

🔹 Weebly

Go to the Settings tab.
Click SEO.
Paste the Pinterest meta tag in the Header Code box.
Save and publish.

🔹 Shopify

From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.

🟨 OPTION 2: HTML FILE UPLOAD METHOD

Pinterest gives you a small file to upload to your website’s root directory (your home folder on your server).

This is great for custom-coded sites or cPanel users.

Download the HTML file Pinterest gives you.
Log into your hosting panel (like Bluehost, SiteGround, etc.).
Open the File Manager and navigate to the public_html or root directory.
Upload the HTML file.
Go back to Pinterest and click Continue to verify.

🟩 OPTION 3: TXT RECORD METHOD (Advanced)

If you manage your domain DNS (like on GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Cloudflare), you can verify using a TXT record.

Log into your domain registrar or DNS host.
Go to DNS settings.
