When this club selects a book, magic happens!
This book club does more than read their books – they are absorbed right into the story to
become the amateur sleuths! To exit the book and get back home, they need to solve the mystery
and reach The End.
In this journey, they travel to a mountaintop ski town to experience the enchanting setting of a
famous film festival. They’ll meet movie stars, producers, and directors. They’ll watch a film
premiere, go skiing, and eat at fancy restaurants. It’s all very glamorous and exciting – until a
famous actress disappears.
The book club is on the case! They discover clues in the most unusual way – by putting together
enchanted jigsaw puzzles.
As usual, the club finds plenty of time to enjoy the unique setting of their journey, as they put
together the mystery – one puzzle piece at a time.

Author Interview
What is your favorite part of this book and why?
Oh, I never thought of it until you asked the question! I love the part when they meet Gloria, the ghost of a glamourous long-dead movie actress. She’s charming and sweet and is just as surprised to meet then as they are to meet her. She’s very excited to have people she can talk to and visit with.
If you could spend time with a character from your book whom would it be? And what would you do during that day?
I love them all, but if I had to pick one, it would have to be Frank, the talking library cat. I had a chocolate-point Siamese cat as a child that I loved, but of course, my cat couldn’t talk. However, I’ve imbued many of my old cat’s personality traits into Frank. He’s a brave, over-confident cat who’s also
very funny, loyal, and occasionally wise.
What books/authors have most inspired you?
I’ve been inspired by many paranormal cozy mystery authors. I love cozies, women’s fiction, and even a touch of romantic comedy. I’m a fan of a long series – the longer the better. I especially enjoy those series that have fascinating easy-to-love characters and settings that I’d want to visit. I lean toward those stories that are touched by magic.
There are far too many authors to include them all, and if I just named a few I’m afraid I’d hurt the feelings of some of my wonderful author friends.
Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?
My characters often start off inspired by a real person or a TV or movie character. It doesn’t take long for them to take over and create their own personality. I’m simply the one that writes the words!
What made you want to become a writer?
Unlike many other authors, I never had the “calling” when I was young, and I never even knew I could write! Becoming a writer grew out of my love of reading. I think I read so many hundreds of books that stories just started to grow in my own mind. Once I started writing – I couldn’t stop!
