🚪 Come On In
As the sun begins to set over Sarandipity, the windows of the Juke Joint start to glow.
Porch lights flicker on.
Strings of café lights twinkle overhead.
Inside, the old jukebox hums quietly in the corner, waiting for someone to choose the first song of the evening.
Before long, neighbors begin arriving.
Some come to dance.
Some come to listen.
Some simply come because they know they’ll see familiar faces.
No one asks if you’re a good dancer.
No one cares if you know the words.
Around here, music isn’t about performing.
It’s about belonging.

From time to time, we’ll hand the jukebox over to one of our neighbors and let them choose what’s playing.
Along with their playlist, they’ll tell us a little about why they chose those songs—the memories they hold, the moments they mark, or simply why they can’t resist turning the volume up when one comes on.
Because sometimes the easiest way to get to know someone is to ask:

One More Song
As the final song fades into the warm night air, neighbors linger on the porch a little longer.
Someone hums the chorus while chairs are put away.
The dance floor grows still.
The porch swings continue their gentle rhythm.
Inside, the jukebox plays one last quiet tune as the lights begin to dim.
Someone looks toward the door and asks:
“Same time next week?”
Nobody answers.
They don’t need to.
Everyone already knows.
