This wellness retreat was the hot spot for more than just relaxation. Make sure you read it to find out who killed Addison’s mother & why. 5-Stars
~Sarcastically Yours, Jen!

Murder in a Lavender Daze is the excellent second book in the Aroma Wellness Mystery series. This is another unique story with a unique setting by this author. The characters are fun and exciting. I love meeting them. There are twists and turns and red herrings, and while I may have suspected who committed the crime, I never was really sure until the end.
~Sapphyria’s Books

A delicious mystery wrapped in unhappy relationships and soothing vibrations makes MURDER IN A LAVENDER DAZE a delightful read. I was happy to return to the Aroma Wellness Spa and look forward to my next visit!

Emma Brennan always knew that her idyllic California hometown of Carmel-by-the-Sea would be the perfect place to open her very own spa. The success of her Aroma Wellness Spa, gift shop, and café has proved her right. But while the business is located in the Courtyard of Peace, Emma finds herself privy to events that are far from serene—like murder . . .

With its soothing décor and tempting treatments, customers are flocking to Aroma Wellness for more than just facials and massages. Lately, Emma has been booking private events, from spa parties to bridal showers and birthdays. Next on her calendar is something really unique: A “Happily Divorced” party.

After eight years of marriage, Addison Lacey is divorcing her husband, whom she claims convinced her he was Mr. Nice Guy when he was really Mr. Controlling Guy. To kick off her journey toward becoming a better version of herself, Addison wants to celebrate, bigtime. Her wealthy mother, Gianna, a former model turned difficult diva, is footing the bill. . . . But when Emma goes to Gianna’s home to pick up the final payment, she and Addison find her dead in her bed amid the aroma of lavender, with an herbal-infused pillow from the party nearby.

Soon, Addison is a prime suspect. But Emma knows there are plenty of others Gianna rubbed the wrong way, including her soon-to-be ex-son-in-law. Once again, with the help of her cousin, her nana, and her trusted Birman cat, Vivi, Emma is determined to sniff out a killer—whether the police like it or not . . .

17 RANDOM THINGS YOU PROBABLY DON’T KNOW ABOUT ME

By
Daryl Wood Gerber

  1. I have jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.
  2. I hitchhiked around Ireland and England by myself . . . and survived.
  3. I love to swim, golf, garden, and walk.
  4. I sing very loudly when I’m in my car with the radio on. With the radio off, too. I
car dance when I sing. That means everything from the waist up can move to
the rhythm. The feet stay on the floor, one on the pedal.
  5. I’ve sung, acted, and danced on stage. And I enjoyed it a lot.
  6. I make a mean margarita. It’s my mother’s recipe. I also have her Roquefort
    dressing recipe that is killer.
  7. I enjoy wine and ice cream and dark chocolate, not mixed together.
  8. I graduated Stanford and yet I don’t think I’m as smart as many of the super
brains I went to school with. What I am is a hard worker. I can’t tell you how
many people have asked me why I didn’t do “more” with my education. Rude,
    don’t you think?
  9. I moved to Los Angeles in the spring of my senior year of college because I won
the opportunity to workshop with the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera. Thanks to
some very flexible teachers, I finished my semester through the mail.
  10. I always wanted to write, but I had a seventh grade teacher who told me that my
writing wasn’t any good. So I hung up my pen. I didn’t take up writing again until
I was an actress and decided to write a screenplay I could star in. I didn’t star in
any of them, but I learned to write long form, which was helpful for novels.
  11. I fell in love with my husband, but he didn’t want to get married, so I rented my
condo to him and I moved across the country to N.Y. where I tried to make it on
Broadway. I did well in the television and commercial area, but I never got my
chance on Broadway, though I did a couple of national tours. Bells Are Ringing
starring Florence Henderson. I was her understudy and chorus.
  12. I returned to Los Angeles because that’s where the love of my life was. We
rekindled a friendship, and we married after three-plus years of dating. I was
very patient. He was worth it.
  13. As a teen, I went on a survival backpacking trip for three weeks and learned how
to not only survive the wilderness but how to survive being with a unique (can
you spell WEIRD?) mixture of people. I learned to rappel on that trip. Rappelling
is the controlled descent of a vertical drop, such as a rock face, using a rope.
  14. My first published novel was a work-for-hire, meaning the publisher came up
with the theme. I wrote every word and derived each story, but the publisher
continues to own the rights to the series. That was A Long Quiche Goodbye, the
first in the Cheese Shop Mysteries.
  15. I love listening to symphony or Latin music when I write.
  16. I love dogs!!!! And cats. And birds. Oh, and children. Love them!
  17. I enjoy reading thrillers and suspense novels and mysteries of all kinds. I wasn’t
a reader until I got sick with the measles and read my mother’s entire set of
Nancy Drew Mysteries (37 books) in one week
